13th March 2026 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 8 Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy until sunset Max Speed: Distance Covered: Friday 13th March - walk **** – Picnic and walk at The Dip with Maeva – cloudy until sunset. Maeva Friday, boy do they come round quick! I had a drive round Felixstowe at nine to take a few weather pics to send to the telly. I just had enough time for breakfast and sort out my photos before she arrived bringing her usual vast array of stuff including her magic wand:) The usual fun morning at home playing musical stepping stones, making something for her mum for Mothers Day and more yummy biscuits and packed the must do picnic. We had to wait for my new secondhand laptop to arrive as mine is very old and on it’s last legs before we could set off in the van to park by the sea. We could not get in at the bottom of Bent Hill so once again parked at our little windsurfing car park at The Dip for a picnic lunch and watch the old people walk past:) Maeva just loves her cold cheese on toast before setting off for a walk towards the golf course, Maeva started off on her bike but ended up walking most of the way which we had to carry the bike again:) The usual beach hut hide and seek, throw a few pebbles in puddles and the kite beach lagoon, certainly making the most of the seaside despite there being a chilly breeze, the highlight was spotting a cormorant drying its wings! Then home to make a den, watch Peppa Pig with a snack before taking her home, another top Friday despite it being the 13th!!! After a cloudy day the sun actually came out for a nice sunset!
